A Reason to Rise

The Phoenix is a powerful symbol of rebirth, transformation, and resilience—a mythical bird that rises renewed from its own ashes. It represents not only endurance but also the beauty of becoming stronger and more radiant after every challenge.

My very first official client was HBO, which was an exciting affirmation that I was moving in the right direction. 





Namesake of Our Baby Firebird

The namesake of my practice, The Brand Phoenix, was inspired by my daughter, Phoenix Mia, born in 2013. She is my greatest source of inspiration and the reason I chose to embody the Phoenix spirit in my work. After a decade of freelancing, I felt called to re-emerge as my own brand—rising with a new energy, a fresh vision, and a signature approach to serving clients.

Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that it’s never too late to remix, remake, or redirect your energy to achieve your goals and drive your mission forward. I conceptualized museum-based tour  for a documentary on early American rock history, intentionally replacing the traditional film festival circuit. I secured and produced screenings at the Grammy Museum, which led to additional engagements with Smithsonian Associates and the Museum of the City of New York—demonstrating a more impactful model for cultural storytelling through institutional partnership.

Through it all, we’ve remained grounded in our values while collaborating with some of the most brilliant minds shaping this work.

        Founded by Mariaesmeralda Paguaga—a Nicaraguan-born, Canadian-raised force now based in Washington, D.C.—We Aid builds on a powerful legacy of campaigns with institutions such as the United Nations, Americans of the Arts, World Health Organization, United States Institute of Peace, and the Hispanic Heritage Awards.

        Together, we’ve brought to life initiatives including the International Peace Honors and more. Now, we are proud to officially join forces—amplifying communications, attention, impact, and strategy for the clients we serve.
